Preparing for Opening Day

Our first game is this coming Thursday the 21st at Maryvale Ballpark against the Dodgers. Pretty cool right? Playing the Dodgers! In preparation for our first games this coming week we have started throwing bullpens every other day. They started on Thursday when we threw a 25 pitch bullpen, all fastballs. Yesterday, we threw a 35 pitch bullpen that included only fastballs and changeups. And tomorrow is a 45 pitch bullpen with all our pitches. Today was a nice day off however. Well, not really off. The bus picked us up at 5:30am today because the coahing staff wanted to get off early for Father's Day. I really didn't mind that much. But we didn't do any throwing or running today. We basically showed up to the field today to shag balls during batting practice. So lame. That's alright though. I'm having fun! Below are a couple of pictures of some things down here. Here is Maryvale Ballpark where we will play our home games this season. (For those of you who keep up with professional sports, this is the field where Ryan Braun addressed the media following his positive drug test that was mishandled) Here are the balls we use. This one is obviously a little beaten up. Here is my locker and the uniforms we'll be wearing this summer. Also, as today is Father's Day, I want to wish all fathers out there a very happy father's day! Thank you to all of you who work so hard to be great role models for your children and those who surround you. I especially want to thank my dad for helping turn me into the man I am today. Thank you dad. I definitely wouldn't be where I am today without you. Thank you for teaching me what's important in life and to never settle for being ordinary. I love you. I also want thank my father-in-law K.B. James for helping Erin become such a wonderful young woman and for the great example you've given me since I've known you. Happy Father's Day K.B. I'll update you all again soon. So long from the desert.
